2005 BIG DOG BULLDOG - 6669 miles.
The youngest chopper of now-defunct American manufacturer Big Dog Motorcycles, the Bulldog was available as a lone model for
the 2005 model year. As perhaps the top-tier Big Dog motorcycle, the 2005 Bulldog had a manufacturer’s suggested retail
price of $32, 900.
The 2005 Big Dog Bulldog is powered by a four-stroke air-cooled V-twin engine from aftermarket parts manufacturer S&S Cycle.
At a displacement of 1, 916 cubic centimeters, the Bulldog engine is incredibly huge – and powerful. It has eight intake
valves (with four on each of its two cylinders), a bore and stroke of 4.13 x 4.38 inches (104.8 x 111.1 millimeters), and a
compression ratio of 9.6 to 1.
Fueling the engine on the 2005 Big Dog Bulldog is an S&S Super G carburetor. A six-speed manual transmission is paired with
the engine, which can be ignited with an electric starter. Each 2005 Bulldog gets a fuel tank with a peak capacity of 3.8
gallons (14.4 liters), with a 0.4-gallon (1.5-liter) reserve.
For its stopping power, the 2005 Big Dog Bulldog relies on all-wheel disc brakes, which are superior to front-disc-brake,
rear-disc-brake, or all-wheel drum layouts. The chopper has a front 1.6-inch (41-mm) telescopic fork and rear rigid
suspension to ensure a smooth and controlled ride. Big Dog installed front 21-inch and rear 18-inch aluminum wheels wrapped
in tubeless tires on the 2005 Bulldog.
Each 2005 Big Dog Bulldog gets a solid steel frame embellished with front and rear fenders, a belt guard, and side covers. A
kick stand is provided for parking the bike, and a one-piece leather seat provides seating for the driver. Nineteen color
schemes are available for the 2005 Bulldog, including Midnight Misty Blue, Candy Grape, Bahama Blue, Brite White, Black
Sapphire, and Chrome Yellow.
Standard digital instrumentation on the 2005 Big Dog Bulldog consists of a speedometer, tachometer, trip odometer, and trip
computer. A halogen headlight and a pair of side mirrors are included for increasing visual perception when on the road.
Each 2005 Big Dog Bulldog is 107 inches (2, 718.8 mm) long and has a wheelbase of 82 inches (2, 082.8 mm). The ground
clearance and seat height of the chopper are measured at 4 inches (101.6 mm) and 24.5 inches (622.3 mm), respectively. With
a dry weight of 654 lbs. (296.7 kilograms), the 2005 Bulldog has a gross vehicle weight rating, or GVWR, of 1, 085 inches
(492.2 kg).
In almost every way, the 2005 Big Dog Bulldog is a replica of the 2005 edition of the Big Dog Ridgeback. However, if you are
looking for a slightly longer driving range or higher fuel capacity, it’s wise to opt for the Bulldog.
